本項目是由香港大學建築學系開展的「南丫島水上共建實驗」計劃之一。
「浮室 Float Lab」 將本地材料文化、環境適應和社區參與相結合，探索一種水社區共建的方法。設計以建築為基礎，探索環境科學、環境體驗和環境保育的知識交流。該計畫以香港南丫島索罟灣社區和非政府組織 「島嶼研究網絡」 為合作夥伴，以行動研究打造一個跨學科的體驗式學習和研究平台，並通過未來的合作擴展，實現一種共同建造的沿海生態水上學習中心。

This project is a part of the co-design experimental construction on the waters by the Department of Architecture at the University of Hong Kong.
Float Lab explores a co-design approach that brings together local material cultures, environmental responsiveness, and coastal community engagement, expanding the understanding of architecture at the intersection of environmental science, environmental experience, and environmental stewardship. With the village community of Sok Kwu Wan on Lamma Island and local NGO Island Studies Network as local partners, this project promotes action research and provides a cross-disciplinary platform for experiential learning and student research, with the goal of attracting external funding in the next phase to establish the first on-water coastal ecology learning center in the region.
