The spatial design for Classical Chinese Paintings and Contemporary Ink at Christie’s Asia auction exhibitions translates the traditional folded screen in Chinese living halls into a spatial parti that double-functions as a viewing device. The folded panels and openings create a surprising layering of space that enables the simultaneous experience of artworks from different dynasties of Chinese history.
