折鐵
deTour 2023 設計節

「折鐵」是一系列低耗白鐵傢俱，其發想源自於對本土白鐵工藝發展歷程的反思及對傳統工藝可持續未來的探索。白鐵工藝及其製品與香港日常生活息息相關，亦是香港城市歷史的重要部分。我們的設計重新審視白鐵材料與製作工藝的關聯，通過切、割、折、焊等步驟，利用白鐵其可彎折的特性，發揮材料本身在空間和結構方面的潛力，及減少浪費，希望藉此啟發更多在傳統工藝的可持續創新。

Steel Fold
deTour 2023

Steel Fold is a low-waste galvanised steel furniture series that explores new methods to innovate traditional galvanised steel fabrication techniques in Hong Kong, showcasing the sustainable future of the time-honoured craft. The design proposes a close reading of the galvanised steel material, its deep-rooted relationship with our everyday lives, and its historical intertwining with Hong Kong’s urban history. By exploring the spatial and structural potential of the cutting, folding, and welding techniques, our design iterates a flat-packed folded furniture that minimises material and packaging wastage, combining contemporary technologies and traditional craftsmanship through a sustainable perspective.
